One FNB customer will walk away with R62-million after winning the PowerBall jackpot in the draw that took place on the 16 September 2016.
The latest jackpot winner brings the total amount won by FNB clients to over R160-million since Lotto and PowerBall purchases were reintroduced on FNB’s electronic channels a few months ago.
“Our digital platforms are proving to be incredibly popular among Lotto and PowerBall players, and this latest jackpot is testament to that,” says Shadrack Palmer, chief commercial officer of FNB Connect and Service Provider. “This is the fifth big jackpot winner since we launched with iThuba, the new national lottery operator.
“Our most popular channel is the FNB app with 39% of our customers purchasing through this channel, followed by online banking at 32% and cellphone banking at 29%.
“We have also seen how popular Lotto Plus and PowerBall Plus are, with 88% of our Lotto and PowerBall customers selecting this option. Customers enjoy the convenience of having their winnings deposited directly into their bank account and not having to check winning numbers,” says Shadrack.
FNB customers are able to purchase tickets for up to 10 draws, viewing and replaying past tickets while being able to view winning numbers and jackpot values direct from FNB’s digital channels. Customers also have the security of having their tickets stored electronically.
