MTN has once again been named the Most Valuable South African Brand by independent brand valuation and ratings firm Brand Finance.
At the time of the announcement, MTN’s brand value was R37-billion.
The companies that were evaluated by Brand Finance are ranked as South Africa’s top brands that contribute meaningfully not only to the country’s GDP, but are ambassadors of South Africa internationally in the markets where they conduct business.
The Brand Finance approach to brand valuation involves valuing ‘brands’ at three different levels, each reflecting the different definitions of ‘brand’ commonly used in the market place. These levels include: branded business value, brand contribution and brand value.
Says Larry Annetts, chief consumer officer of MTN South Africa: “MTN is pleased and humbled with the outcome of the Brand Finance valuation. This valuation is a culmination of the diligence and the hard work by thousands of MTN employees across our footprint.”
