Mustek has been selected as an official distributor of LG’s range of visual display products. The company will supply desktop monitors, televisions, public display panels and LED projectors to the dealer channel throughout Africa.
The deal forms part of Mustek’s efforts to grow its visual display product offerings and to offer more globally recognised brands to the channel.
“LG brings unique features to our visual display products offering,” says Lizette McIntosh, LG product manager at Mustek. “All LG screens feature the highest quality IPS liquid crystal technology, which provides a better quality image and better viewing angles.
“We also have a few snazzy projectors on offer, including an ultra-short throw projector that projects a 100-inch screen, and a fully mobile, battery-powered projector, which is ideal to take along on holiday or for use in areas where there is no electricity.”
She adds: “We’re seeing a convergence in the market between television and large-format display panels, where customers are using smart TVs for digital signage applications. LG caters for both these markets with its range of panels and we’re excited to be able to offer these to the channel at a competitive price point.”
“LG Electronics continues to pride itself in providing technically advanced products that do not just meet the standards of consumers but exceeds in excellence and performance,” says Zandre Rudolph, sales manager for LG Electronics IT Business Unit.
According to market research firm HIS, the OLED TV panel market, which is currently dominated by LG Display, is predicted to grow from $1-billion to $1,9-billion this year. Additionally, Markets and Markets predicts that the digital signage market, which was valued at $16,88-billion in 2015, will reach $27,34-billion by 2022, representing a compound annual growth rate of 6,7% between 2016 and 2022.
