DRS, a Cognosec company and a broad-based distributor and reseller of security solutions, has added the ForeScout range of network access control solutions to its offerings.
Robert Brown, CEO of DRS, says the agreement will help expand ForeScout’s reach.
ForeScout products offer the unique ability to see devices, including non-traditional devices, the instant they connect to the network. “The solutions and products enforce policy-based control of these devices, orchestrate information sharing and automate workflows among disparate security and IT management tools,” Brown explains.
The solutions pinpoint all corporate, BYOD, IoT and rogue devices, servers, routers and access points, and enforce network access based on user, device and policy. In addition, they find and fix vulnerabilities on managed and unmanaged endpoints and rapidly responds to incidents without the need for human intervention.
ForeScout CounterACT provides real-time discovery, control, monitoring and policy-based remediation of managed, unmanaged and non-traditional devices–with or without security agents. “ForeScout CounterACT was recently presented with the SC Excellence Award in the Threat Solutions category for the Best NAC Solution. This is the second year in a row that it was voted best in its class,” says Brown.
Each year, hundreds of products are entered into the awards. Each product is judged by a panel representing large, medium and small enterprises from all major vertical markets including financial services, healthcare, government, retail, education and other sectors. Entrants are narrowed down to a select group of finalists before undergoing a rigorous final judging process to determine the winner in each category. Tony Morbin, editor in chief of SC Magazine UK described ForeScout CounterACT as “a significant achievement and one that shows ForeScout’s dedication to innovation and protecting against the ever-changing threat landscape”.
Brown says that ForeScout CounterACT has been developed to provide solutions for specific industry needs, and is ideal for the government, financial, retail, healthcare, education, and manufacturing sectors. “In every industry, new devices are entering company networks every hour. Whether unmanaged notebooks, smartphones and tablets, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, servers, or any other rogue endpoints, these devices increase the risk profile of a company. While there are a number of security solutions that companies must use to keep themselves safe, many can’t see these dangerous devices. ForeScout can see them, control them and orchestrate system-wide response.”
ForeScout’s Extended Modules extend the capabilities of CounterACT to a vast range of system infrastructure and third-party security management tools, he explains. CounterACT Enterprise Manager offers centralised management and control of distributed virtual and physical CounterACT appliances, and the company’s. ControlFabric Architecture enables CounterACT and other solutions to exchange information and resolve network, security and operational issues.
Speaking of what makes ForeScout unique, Brown says its agentless technology detects and mitigates BYOD and IoT devices that are ‘invisible’ and provides continuous monitoring and diagnostics. It also integrates with more than 70 network, security, mobility and IT management products.
“ForeScout’s range is a perfect addition to the DRS suite of offerings,” he adds. “The products are all aimed at meeting the most pressing security challenges faced by businesses today, and we are looking forward to growing the brand in South Africa.”
