Huawei Technologies South Africa has been recognised as a 2017 Top Employer. This comes after the global ICT leader rose on Interbrand’s 2016 Best Global Brands list in the same month.
For the first time this year, Huawei Technologies was awarded the Top Employers South Africa 2017 certification, at a dinner held at the Sandton Convention centre in Johannesburg on the 13th October 2016. Huawei is among 164 organisations in Africa, from 32 countries between 23 sectors to be awarded.
In South Africa, Huawei is rated in the Top 100 Top Employers. “Huawei has been striving for excellence in the ICT sector on both the international and local environments. It prides us for the Huawei brand to speak for itself through various independent researches,” says COO of Huawei South Africa, Christina Naidoo.
The Top Employers Institute conducted a comprehensive independent research which revealed that Huawei Technologies provides exceptional employee conditions. This is through nurturing and developing talent throughout all levels of the organisation and has demonstrated its leadership status in the HR environment, always striving to optimise its employment practices and to develop its employees.
The Top Employers certification is awarded to organisations that achieve the highest standards of excellence in employee conditions, HR processes and standards. The first step in the certification process is a company’s participation in the HR Best Practices Survey: a comprehensive analysis of the Human Resources environment. This research critically assesses HR management and employee conditions within the organisation.
Following validation and an external audit, performance scores are rated against an international standard. Only employers that achieve the required level qualify for certification.
The Top Employers Institute assessed Huawei Technologies South Africa’s employee offerings on the following criteria:
* Talent strategy;
* Workforce planning;
* On-boarding;
* Learning and development;
* Performance management;
* Leadership development;
* Career and succession management;
* Compensation and benefits; and
* Culture.
