KPMG in South Africa, a member firm of KPMG International, was named a winner of a 2017 IBM Beacon Award for Outstanding Cognitive Solution on Cloud. This honour is awarded to select IBM Business Partners that deliver outstanding solutions across IBM’s broad product and service portfolio to drive business value for customers. The 2017 awards recognise achievements across a wide-range of growing solution areas, including cloud and Watson IoT, all of which are helping clients thrive in the cognitive era.
“We are honoured to accept this Beacon Award from IBM. We believe cognitive business is the future and a game changer for clients. We’re especially proud to be the first in South Africa to implement IBM Planning Analytics. To be recognised shows the breadth and depth of our capabilities to deliver innovative and enhanced solutions on cloud and validates how important it is for organisations to gain insight and intelligence into their core financial and operational data,” said Tony Vicente, head of the Management Consulting services group in South Africa, and a Partner with KPMG in South Africa.
“To help clients keep pace in the cognitive era, IBM Business Partners must deliver differentiated industry solutions that present new ways of solving problems,” said Marc Dupaquier, general manager, IBM Global Business Partners. “As a Beacon Award winner, KPMG continually drives business value for our mutual clients on their evolutionary journey as they look to make better decisions, understand customers, communicate in real time, and optimise business processes.”
The Beacon Awards are an integral part of IBM’s Business Partner recognition program. Announced at the IBM PartnerWorld Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, the winners are selected by a panel of expert judges consisting of IBM executives, industry analysts and members of the press. The awards are given to Business Partners around the world who have demonstrated business excellence in delivering IBM-based solutions to clients to drive transformation and business growth. This year’s awards recognised Business Partner achievements across 19 award categories encompassing a wide-range of solution areas, including analytics, collaboration, cloud, commerce, cognitive, Watson IoT and security.
“KPMG’s adoption of cognitive technologies, including IBM Watson, combined with advanced enterprise performance and analytics capabilities, allows member firms to create leading technology solutions that are designed to provide significant enhancements to the depth of insights KPMG professionals can provide to clients. This award complements KPMG’s investment focus in innovation and demonstrates how this strategic alliance with IBM can help transform enterprises while enabling results,” concludes Tony Torchia, Global Alliance Partner, IBM Alliance and a Partner with KPMG in the U.S.
