There were a number of exciting, interactive displays and demo models on display. One that completely stole the show was the Toughbooks/ Toughpad, launched in 1996, and which has continuously been refined. This is evidenced by the fact that the Toughbooks/Touchpads are being utilised by industry leaders for international markets in the military, the police; healthcare government, flight engineers as well as border patrol in several countries.
Features on the Toughbooks include drop resistant, dust, sand and splash proof. A new attribute is that Toughbooks are sunlight readable with a fully detachable screen.
The High Definition Visual Communications (HDVC) Video conferencing solution drew lots of attention on the night. Remaining true to Panasonic’s innovativeness, the HDVC now has special integrated software to compensate for bandwidth fluctuations on the internet or wireless business calls. This means the system corrects frustrating buffering (unclear audio and visual) found on poor connections).
