Westcon-Comstor was awarded the title as Africa Distributor of the Year (2017) at the recent Cisco Partner Summit held in Dallas Texas this month.
The award recognises the efforts made by the Comstor arm of the company, through the execution of innovation, leadership and best practice as a Cisco business partner and premier distributor across EMEAR and in particular, the Africa region, for which the team received the award.
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this award from Cisco. It not only acknowledges the work our team has put into the region, but also recognises the efforts we have made in rolling out our One Africa strategy, where we have created a single pane of glass experience for multi-national partners looking to engage across the continent,” states Louise Taute, Comstor director at Westcon-Comstor Southern Africa.
“Furthermore, I think it is important to call out the work our partners have done in the region. Their commitment and tenacity in taking the Cisco brand into the market, as well as their willingness to get involved in the partner and channel enablement activities we run are to be commended.”
The Cisco Partner Summit Theatre awards reflect the top-performing partners within specific technology markets across EMEAR. All award recipients are selected by a group of Cisco Global Partner Organisation and regional and theatre executives.
“Cisco remains a growing focus for our business and we have experienced excellent growth within our Comstor business across the continent,” says Vincent Entonu, GM of Comstor Africa. “Based on what we have seen amongst our resellers in the region there is a developing appetite for the full spectrum of Cisco solutions, particularly as their customers are looking to digitally transform their businesses in order to be globally competitive.
“This award is testimony to the fact that our specific brand of value-added distribution in the market is working,” he adds.
Cisco Partner Summit is attended by more than 2 100 global attendees from Cisco’s eco-system of partners representing more than 1 000 companies worldwide from more than 75 countries.
