Applications for the Harvard South Africa Fellowship Programme (HSAFP) are now open for mid-career professionals wanting to advance their careers in their chosen fields.
The Harvard Centre for African Studies announced that applications for the 2019-2020 program are now available and the closing deadline for submission is 4 April 2018.
Since 1979, more than 200 Fellowships have been awarded to promising South Africans who have demonstrated excellence in their chosen fields.
The aim of the Fellowship is to provide educational enrichment through advanced training for women and men who have completed their degrees and are already showing significant skill and commitment in their specific field. The Fellowships are awarded for a year of study in one of the faculties or schools of Harvard University.
Obenewa Amponsah, executive director of the Africa Office, says: “The Harvard South Africa Fellowship Programme is a unique opportunity for South African professionals to study internationally. During their programme, Fellows will engage with thought leaders from around the globe, gaining and sharing new insights in their areas of expertise.”
The Fellowship program covers tuition fees for the full period of enrolment as well as airfare between the Fellow’s home and Boston. Candidates are encouraged to inform themselves about the eligible Harvard programme on their respective websites to ensure that the selected program they apply to matches their academic and professional qualifications as well as their career aspirations.
