Exactly one month since it's inception, SangoTech has already facilitated R600 000.00 worth of software for NGOs – for the nominal payment of R30 000.00.

SangoTech, an online donation and discount portal, is a partnership between SangoNet and TechSoup, a San Francisco-based non-profit technology capacity-building organisation that links technology donations and the NGO sector.
The SangoTech programme assists NGOs in two ways: by providing software for a very low adminstration fee – often saving up to 95% of the retail cost; and by assisting them in making the most of their ICT purchases and infrastructure.
The portal provides resources and advice around technology planning, ICT tips and tricks, and other technology assistance the NGOs may require.
SangoTech and TechSoup are also working on expanding the programme to include donations from other leading corporate technology donors.
The programme is open to South African non-profit organisations that have either Public Benefit Organisation status or Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) status.
In addition to meeting the general programme eligibility criteria, organisations also need to meet the specific requirements of each donor partner.
There are about 100 000 NGOs in South Africa.
