IPMS Consulting and Spescom DataVoice, have been awarded the South African Rail Commuter Corporation-Metrorail Voice Recording tender.

The tender is to upgrade the SARCC-Metrorail Voice Logger infrastructure throughout its four main Regions in Wits (Johannesburg), Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Pretoria (Tshwane), utilising DataVoice Libra Recording Platforms.

IPMS, with their Project Management skills and DataVoice as a local manufacturer of internationally accepted Voice Logging Systems, amply fulfilled the stringent requirements set out in the SARCC-Metrorail Tender.  Strong local support and infrastructure as well as the ability to commit to rollout within a short time period, were critical factors for success.

Viv Crone, CEO Spescom DataVoice, says: “The Voice Recorders are urgently required by SARCC-Metrorail to record all operational telephone and radio conversations taking place in the metro regions.  It is particularly critical for SARCC-Metrorail to record conversations at times when visual signals are down as well as for incident investigation after train accidents.  The system can also be used as a training tool by SARCC-Metrorail.”
