HP has reported increased profits of 26%, mainly on the back on increased printer and PC sales.
The printer and PC divisions of the company helped to drive revenues to $25,1-billion for the first quarter of 2007 (November to January), for net income of $1,55-billion – an 11% increase from the year before.
The PC unit grew quarterly sales 17% on a year earlier to $8,7-billion, with notebook sales increasing more than 40%.
Imaging and printing grew 7% to $7-billion, while storage and servers grew 5%t overall
The software division was up to $550-million, a 7% increase (excluding the effect of the Mercury acquisition). The services division increased its revenues by 5% to $3,9-billion.
