Rectron is to distribute LG Electronic’s range of monitors and notebooks throughout South Africa – the third major distribution agreement Rectron has signed so far this year.

Though LG Electronics (LGE) was established in Korea in 1958, it wasn’t until March 1997 that LG Electronics SA took over control of the marketing and distribution of LG products from the Barlows GoldStar Company. This was almost simultaneous with the launch of the LG brand onto the international and South African market to replace GoldStar.
Jaya Naidoo, business manager at Rectron, comments: “As a preferred IT distributor, Rectron sees LG Electronics as a dedicated vendor that wants to grow its profit margins in the IT Channel. Rectron plans to give LG’s notebooks and monitors full exposure in terms of marketing and positioning the products to the right channels and ensuring that the customers see the benefits and features of these products.”
LGESA IT Division is confident that given the recent appointment of Rectron as a strategic partner they will reach its goal as the preferred monitor and notebook brand by the end of this year.
Depending on the success of Rectron and LG’s partnership, Rectron hopes to extend its range of LG products beyond notebooks and monitors.
