Cingular Wireless, which will be the initial, exclusive mobile network for Apple's upcoming iPhone, says it has already received 1-million inquiries for the gadget.
The AT&T division says that while it is not taking yet taking orders for the iPhone, it did set up a Web page for prospective buyers to leave their contact details so they could be contacted when units are available.
One million visitors to the site have already done so, Cingular says.
Apple is expected to start shipping the iPhone in June and estimates it will eventually sell 10-million. The 4Gb version iPhone is expected to retail in the US for $499, and the 8Gb version for $599.
