Chief information officers (CIOs) have reduced the spending estimates for the year, according to the latest CIO Magazine Tech Poll. 

CIOs now expect spending increases of 5,1% for the next 12 months, down from 5,8% in December, ComputerWorld reports.
In terms of specific categories, 48,4% paln to increase spending on data networking equipment, up from 35,3%; while 15,3% will decrease spending in the category, up from 13,7%.
Meanwhile, 46,3% of respondents will increase spending on storage systems, down from 52,9% in December; while 15,7% will decrease spending on storage, up from 10,9%.
Computer hardware spending will increase in 45,5% of organisation, down from 55,8% in December; with 17,9% decreasing hardware spending, up from 11,7%.
