South Africa's own Niall Murphy has implemented a WiFi network across the historical City of London.

The one-square-mile City – the walled Roman city and now the heart of the UK's financial district – is now connected via a WiFi mesh consisting of 127 nodes built into lampposts and streets signs.
Implemented by The Cloud, the network will cater to the needs of the 350 000 workers in the City, as well as the thousands of visitors the area receives every day.
The network will provide broadband access and has been designed to hand off users to the next node as they move around the City.
Murphy, co-founder and chief strategy offer of The Cloud, says the company's experience has shown that users find value in the kind of Internet anywhere access provided by networks like this.
The mesh technology was developed by BelAir.
