The world's largest cricketing Web site, www.cricinfo.com, is to become part of the ESPN sports network stable.
Walt Disney' ESPN is buying the site from the Wisden Group, which has published the statistics book, the Cricketers' Almance for almost 150 years.
The move marks ESPN's move into a more global mix of sport, outside of its traditional US-centric coverage. It has been partly fuelled by cricket's increased following in the US, especially by the large Asian ex-patriate population.
Cricinfo boasts more than 7-million users per month and is known around the world as the de facto place to find cricketing information, scores, stats and match coverage.
The site in based in Bangalore, in India.
