An online auction site, initially set up as an alternative to eBay, is up for sale – on eBay.

The Canadian was set up in 2003 to give users a more affordable option than eBay
eBay charges sellers for listing their items, whether they are sold or not. MightyBids, on the other hand, only charges when items are actually sold.
The fuonder, Peter Michaud, was a seller on eBay and decided to set up his own site because of the high eBay charges.
Today, with 100 000 registered users in the US, Canada and Europe, MightyBids has been placed on the auction block – ironically on eBay.
Michaud discloses that the publicity generated from this move is good marketing.
