Bytes Specialised Solutions (BSS) has won a multi-million rand strategic self-service contract from ABSA which will include the replacement of all the banks existing Diebold ATMs with machines from NCR.
"After a stringent supplier selection process, it was evident that the Bytes value proposition offered ABSA the best technology solution at the lowest total cost of ownership," says Allen Mahadeo, GM of the ABSA Self-Service Channel. "In the past, our NCR machines and the services rendered by Bytes have been characterised by high availability and dedicated vendor support. Bytes presented a challenging offer and we are satisfied with our decision to have our entire ATM base comprise of NCR machines."
The contract will also takes into consideration the long-term strategic requirements of ABSA to enable the optimal use of new and emerging technologies, he adds.
