Nine updates this Patch Tuesday

This month's Patch Tuesday next week will see Microsoft issue nine patches – six listed at its highest rating of "critical" and three labelled "important".

Computerworld says, however, that eight of the nine vulnerabilities scheduled for fixes are listed as remote code executable, "a sure sign that the bugs are very dangerous, and if exploited, could easily allow a PC to be hijacked by hackers."
It goes on to say that four of the nine patches are for Vista (one critical); four critical fixes for Office, Excel, Visual Basic 6.0 and Internet Explorer; and important patches for Vista, Windows Media Player, Virtual PC and Virtual Server and Explorer.
Four nonsecurity updates that Microsoft considers "high priority" will also post next week via Windows Update, Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services.
