Another new company has entered the music download business, offering DRM-free music from Universal Music Group – and will promote the service through Google advertising.
gBox will come up as the result of Google searches for terms like artists' name. The Google relationship is strictly one of advertiser and search engine rather than a move by Google to enter the music download market.
It will costs users 99 cents (US) to download a songe from gBox.
They will, however, be free of Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection and users will be able to play them on any device.
