A new group led by MTV is hoping to cash in on the digital music market, in competition with Apple's iTunes store.

MTV Networks will collaborate with RealNetworks and Verizon to create a new digital music store, although it hasn't said when it will open for business.
MTV will put up the money and will merge its Urge store with Rhapsody's music subscription service. Verizon Wireless will be the wireless distributor for the music.
