Afrikaans Internet users can now use instant messaging (IM) in their home language.

According to a report on News24, Translate.org.za is said to have released an Afrikaans version of the IM program Pidgin, giving users access to all the features in Afrikaans.
In addition, the group is currently attempting to translate the IM programme into all of South Africa's 11 official languages.
Translate.org.za has been translating open-source computer software since 2001, and makes the results of its efforts available for free download from translate.org.za.
