Yahoo gets serious about advertising

Yahoo is moving to compete more effectively in the online advertising world with the acquisition yesterday of digital marketing company BlueLithium for $300-million. 

BlueLithium also has an online advertising network and will help Yahoo to serve targeted display ads.
According to recent research, display advertising on the Internet is expected to grow 23% this year, to $6,6-billion, and will account for about one third of US Internet advertising.
BlueLithium specialises in buying advertising space from top publishers and then running targeted, results-driven campaigns in that space.
