SMC Networks SA has released the EZ Connect N Draft 11n Wireless USB2.0 Adapter to the local market. The latest contribution to 2.4GHz wireless communication for desktop and notebook computers is designed to enhance speed, coverage and security within the growing mobile market.
The device is 802.11n draft v2.0 compliant while maintaining full backwards compatibility with Wireless-G (802.11g) and Wireless-B (802.11b) standards. This next generation standard uses advanced MIMO (Multiple-In, Multiple-Out) technology to deliver speed and range.
“With wireless speeds up to 300Mbps and extended coverage, there is enough bandwidth to simultaneously stream video and audio, play online games, transfer large files, make VoIP calls and surf the Internet,” says Paul Luff, country manager of Networks SA.
With security being a key consideration, the product supports the latest WPA and WPA2 wireless encryption standards, which can also be set up easily using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) that enables push button or PIN configuration.
Once installed the WLAN utility allows the user to scan for available wireless networks and manage multiple network profiles to facilitate instantaneous connectivity.
The benefit of compliance with the 802.11 wireless-N standard is the delivery of speeds up to 300Mbps and extensive coverage.
“This is ideal for those working with multi-media applications including streaming video, online gaming, music and networking multiple PCs,” adds Luff.
Other noteworthy features of the solution include WPA/WPA 2 Encryption which prevents unauthorized access to the wireless networks and ensures data security; as well as Wi-Fi Protected Set-upTM which allows for straightforward security setup through push button or PIN configuration.
