iBurst yesterday signed up customer number 50 000, making it just the second wireless broadband provider to reach that milestone.
CEO Thami Mtshali coments: “The growth of iBurst since January 2006 has been astonishing and we attribute this to a great product that’s available when people want it.”
There are four wireless broadband providers in South Africa.
“We’ll reach 100 000 subscribers during 2008,” Mtshali adds.
iBurst now boasts a total complement of over 150 base stations with new sites added to the network almost weekly. The company has set itself a target of 200 base stations by the end of 2007.
iBurst was the first network provider to offer broadband connectivity from as little as R49.00 per month.
