A global manhunt for a suspected paedophile, posted about 200 scrambled picures of himself abusing boys, has been arrested with the help of a South African living in Thailand.
The Star reports that Alf Haupt contacted Thai police when the international call for help in apprehending him went out, and he realised he had spoken to the man in his hotel in Pattaya.
The suspected paedophile is Canadian Christopher Neil. Pictures were scrambled to prevent police from identifying him, but German computer experts were able to reconstruct the images.
Interpol is accusing Neil of sexually abusing 12 boys, including a Thai nine-year-old, and posting 200 pictures of the crimes on the Internet.
