Real arrest for virtual theft

If we needed any proof that the lines between the virtual and real worlds are blurring, a Dutch teenager has been arrested for stealing furniture in a virtual reality game.

Habbo Hotel is a teenage virtual reality world. The 17-year-old is accused of stealing about E4 000.00 of virtual furniture by hacking into other players' virtual hotel rooms.
A number of 15-year-olds are also being questioned by Dutch police.
Habbo players furnish their rooms and play online games using Habbo Credits, which are bought with real money.
