Ingram Micro SA adds Kingston Technology

Ingram Micro South Africa has signed a new distribution agreement with Kingston Technology Europe, the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products.

The new agreement closes a vital loop in Ingram Micro's end-to-end components strategy, bringing a world-class memory brand with a worldwide lifetime warranty into the mix of other brands represented by the distributor.
By adding Kingston Technology to its list of brands, Peter Ibbotson, CEO of Ingram Micro South Africa says the company will be able to offer resellers a range of the world's most reliable components, thereby allowing them to build 'white box computers' that in many regards exceed the quality offered by international OEM brands.
Ibbotson says that the conclusion of this distribution agreement is furthermore testimony to the local market's opinion of Ingram Micro.
"Kingston Technology selects distributors based on a strict set of criteria and as such, the fact that Ingram Micro South Africa has secured these distribution rights on its first attempt speaks volumes about its professionalism," he adds.
Laurent Sirgy, director: Southern Europe MEA at Kingston Technology Europe, says: "Ingram Micro plays an integral part of Kingston Technology's strategy to extend its scope into the market. We believe that our relationship with Ingram Micro will further entrench our brand in the channel."
Ibbotson notes that in a similar vein to it securing the local rights for Kingston Technology, the market can anticipate the addition of even more prestigious brands.
"Going forward our strategy includes the acquisition of the most sought after technology brands in the world to our portfolio," says Ibbotson.
"We are convinced the local reseller community will be delighted when they find out exactly what we have planned," he concludes.
