Ushering in the new year with a bang, Novell SA has appointed a new country manager and some key new management.
Michelle Beetar, formerly of Oracle and MWeb, has been named as country manager of the company, replacing Stafford Massie who resigned a few months ago to take up the position of country manager at the soon-to-be launched Google SA.
It is understood that one of Beetar's main roles is to mentor current sales director, Desan Naidoo to take over the reins of the company some time in the future. Naidoo won a Director of the Year award at Novell's international partner summit held in Orlando, Florida in November.
Other key appointments see Matthew Lee join Novell as channel manager, Lewis Taljaard (formerly of GijimaAST) as head of ISM, and Mark Dorfling (formerly Comztek) as systems resource manager.
Last month, Lauren Castelyn was appointed head of marketing at the local office, replacing Trish Barwick who has formed her own PR company.
