Cyril Belikoff, head of Microsoft’s Information Worker business in South Africa, is to take up a high profile position in Microsoft’s head office in the US from the end of February.
Belikoff, who has been instrumental in driving the launch of products like Microsoft Office 2007 and Office Communications Server into the South African market, has taken up a position in Redmond as group product manager: Office.
Belikoff has spent more than 10 years at Microsoft SA, starting as a demonstrator in the community development arena before going on to build the company’s first ms.com/southafrica website. He was instrumental in launching MSN in South Africa, and ran the Communications Sector business before taking on his current position of Information Worker business group lead.
Microsoft SA MD Pfungwa Serima says Belikoff’s move was clear evidence of the world-class talent within the local subsidiary.
“We at Microsoft SA have always been committed to developing our people to the fullest and offering our employees great global career opportunities,” says Serima. “Although we are sad to see Cyril go, we are very proud that we are able to export such great talent to our parent company."
No replacement for Belikoff has been named yet.
