Microsoft is under fire from the European Commission again, with regulators investigating whether the software giant abused its market dominance to squeeze out other Internet browsers and applications that use Microsoft programs.

The two new investigations come after Microsoft lost an appeal against a previous EC finding.
The investigations are preliminary at this stage and there has been no timeframe given for formal charges to be filed – if at all.
The investigations will seek to determine if Microsoft gives away Internet Explorer; and whether Office Open XML is interoperable with other companies' products.
