The ongoing threats posed by social networking sites has been acknoledged by MySpace, which is working with US attorneys general to make their environment safer for children.

The social networking site has agreed to allow parents to submit their children's E-mail addresses so that MySpace can ascertain that no-once creates profiles using them. It has also promised to respond to complaints about inappropriate content within 72 hours.
In addition, it will set up a technical task force to work out ways of checking the ages and identities of people who create profiles.
