Acer's South African country manager David Drummond is moving on to take up the position as MD of Acer UK. Graham Braum will take over at the head of the local operation.

Braum has been with Acer for nine years, having spent the last year as commercial manager.
Drummond joined Acer as South African country manager at the end of 2002. Since then the local Acer team has tripled its market share with IDC’s 2007 research showing Acer as the number two player in this market with a 21,4% market share, and the number two position in overall PC shipments with 10,4% market share.
Acer has also emerged as a consistent top three player in the South African displays market posting record growth for its LCD panels and projectors business.
“The time with Acer South Africa has been both challenging and rewarding. I have worked with a great team of people and have enjoyed excellent relationships with our partners and customers,” says Drummond.
“The challenging times have probably produced the most reward and being able to work with a team of such high caliber staff and partners has made it all the more satisfying. I look forward to a new set of challenges and, from what I hear, an exceptional team in the UK.”
