GijimaAst has been awarded a five-year, R122-million contract to deliver a full complement of SAP support services to Anglo Platinum for all its South African operations as well as those in Zimbabwe and Zurich. This includes mining operations, refineries and beneficiation plants as well as administration and support areas.

“We are delighted to have been chosen by Anglo Platinum for this project. Our involvement in this project will further strengthen our strategic partnership with the Anglo Group” says Jonas Bogoshi, CEO of GijimaAst.
Anglo Platinum has standardised on SAP as their ERP System of choice and GijimaAst will deliver support over the full SAP spectrum, including Finance, Human Resources, Asset management, In-bound and Out-Bound Logistics as well as technical services like SAP Basis and Development.
As part of the implementation, GijimaAst will be responsible for the integration of standard support services with a focus on value creation through its business consulting competency.  By working with GijimaAst, Anglo Platinum will not only be able to reduce the amount of management time currently spent on maintaining the SAP systems, but also reduce the cost associated with the applications support environment.
“GijimaAst was chosen based on its sound track record in SAP consulting and its ability to provide integrated solutions across business systems including our Core Mining Systems,” comments Alistair Knock, CIO of Anglo Platinum.  “We are happy to have chosen GijimaAst to partner with us and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
GijimaAst employs more than 60 mining engineers for the deployment and servicing of technology and about 150 SAP and Microsoft specialists with specific experience of the mining industry.
