A Moroccan man has been sentenced to three years in jail after setting up a false Facebook profile as the brother of Morocco's King Mohammed VI.

Fouad Mourtada was also fined 10 000 dinar for what he says was simply a joke.
The harsh sentence is supposed to serve as an example to other Moroccan Internet users.
The defence argued that spoof profiles about leaders in the western world were common on Facebook, without ever coming to trial.
