Bytes Document Solutions, the sole authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions in 24 African countries, has appointed X&R Technologies as its new distributor in Kenya.

Based in Nairobi, X&R Technologies replaces Xerodoc Kenya as the authorised Xerox distributor for Kenya.
"X&R Technologies is well placed to provide the Xerox service offering in Kenya and is poised to become one of the biggest distributors of Xerox products and solutions outside of South Africa," says Coenraad Ackerman, African operations manager at Bytes Document Solutions.
The operations of the newly-formed company will be headed up by CEO Lucy Njoroge, who co-founded, along with her husband, OpenView in Kenya, a world-class IT solutions company that services the corporate market segment in East Africa and has grown at an annual rate in excess of 50% over the past 10 years.
"OpenView became so successful that Access Kenya, the country's only listed ICT company, recently purchased a majority stake in it, hence our belief that with Lucy at the helm X&R Technologies will have a competitive advantage," says Ackerman.
X&R Technologies will be supplying the entire Xerox product range to the Kenyan market and East African region. Sufficient investment plans are in place to ensure the company's infrastructure and coverage in the country expand and its maintenance and support capabilities fully cover the market. Marketing and branding in this region will be done in a co-operative manner between Bytes Document Solutions and X&R Technologies.
"We are focused, with the support of Bytes Document Solutions, on providing superior delivery and implementation of Xerox products and solutions to our customers and to follow through with quality after-sales support," says Njoroge.
In addition to this appointment, Bytes Document Solutions has strengthened its commitment to the Kenyan and East African market by setting up a logistics centre that will service the markets quickly and effectively. A substantial consignment of stock was shipped into the country recently to a DHL facility, which was contracted to provide logistical support to Bytes Document Solutions and the region. This will enable products to be available immediately to the Kenyan and East
African markets.
"Kenya is the hub of the East Africa region," says Ackerman. "The relationship with X&R Technologies holds great potential for the Xerox brand in that region, making this investment important for the company's success and in turn that of Bytes Document Solutions."
