Fuse IT, a supplier of customer specific software solutions, has implemented Post Vision Technology’s Project Portfolio Office (PPO) Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) system, in order to support company activities for its widely distributed personnel and partners. The company has also signed up as a reseller of the PPO solution.

PPO is a web-based, enterprise capable application designed, developed and supported in South Africa to assist organisations to manage projects and project portfolios across a number of industries.
Says Fuse IT director, Jason Nicholls: "Fuse IT is in the business of delivering. Our projects are supported by professional processes, systems and personnel, of which project management, system engineering and a development methodology and framework form an integral part.
"The main objective behind the PPO installation was to implement a project management system that can support the execution of our PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and system engineering processes and is flexible enough to manage our company activities, taking into account that our personnel is widely distributed over project sites."
Fuse IT opted for PPO over competitive solutions based on its focus on the essential capabilities to plan, execute and control project activities.
"Project performance feedback and communication is also performed efficiently. In addition, the PPO Software as a Service (SaaS) option facilitates the implementation and keeps cost of ownership low.
"We see SaaS as a ‘must have’ for second and third tier companies," Nicholls continues. "These companies do not want to own software and IT contractors and internal IT personnel can be a notorious source of frustration, and sometimes downright loss of productivity."
Guy Jelley, CEO of Post Vision Technology, adds: "Our PPOLive offering follows the On-Demand/ SaaS model which provides organisations and individuals with access to the full PPO application on a hosted and rental basis over the Internet.
"This allows organisations, smaller businesses in particular, to get the usage of this solution at a fraction of the cost and with no infrastructure-related concerns."
