McAfee scoops Front & Sullivan award

McAfeehas received the prestigious Frost and Sullivan Award for strategic technology innovation in mobile security. Frost and Sullivan recognised McAfee for pioneering the area of mobile application assurance with it latest offering called McAfee OK.

In response to the increase of mobile content and application usage and sharing, McAfee OK provides mobile content certification program for content providers, aggregators and network operators.
“McAfee has brought a new edge to the mobile security market and introduced new business models,” said Katie Gotzen, European security analyst, Frost and Sullivan. “The company understands the dynamic nature of the mobile industry, and has adapted its product and channel strategies in order to take advantage of changes and developments such Mobile Web 2.0. In addition McAfee has been pioneering large scale platform-agnostic mobile security solutions since its partnership with NTT DoCoMo in 2001."
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Strategic Innovation is presented to the company which has shown the ability to adapt its business and marketing strategies to changing market conditions.  Frost & Sullivan expects such innovations to produce lasting, precedent-setting trends in the industry. The research process includes interviews with industry experts, industry participants, and end-users, as well as extensive secondary data research.
“This is great recognition of McAfee’s work to secure the mobile user experience,” said Victor Kouznetsov, senior vice president, Mobile Security at McAfee. “Adoption of new mobile services and applications is increasingly influenced by end user security considerations and McAfee OK provides simple and recognizable way to identify safe content.”
