Kyocera Mita Europe announced that all of its own sales subsidiaries in Europe and South Africa have acquired ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for Environmental Management Systems.

It enables organisations to develop and implement its policy and objectives, ensure compliance with environmental legislations and implement a programme of continuous improvement. In obtaining certification to ISO 14001, Kyocera Mita’s European operation can show that its working practices and processes have been verified by third-party auditing.
Kyocera Mita sales subsidiaries in the following countries received certification, effective from March 2008: Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa. Establishing ISO 14001 in sales offices is a further step in Kyocera Mita’s ongoing aim to reduce environmental impacts. All Kyocera Mita production plants in the world have already achieved ISO14001 certification.
Kyocera Mita research over decades has focused on producing environmentally-friendly products, such as the cartridge-free ECOSYS range, which uses long-life components and only one consumable – toner – to reduce waste consumables.
Several Kyocera Mita products have been awarded eco labels such as the world-recognised ''Blue Angel''– the most prestigious environmental labelling in Germany and the “Nordic Swan”.
