Following the announcement by Canadian-based Aastra Technologies, ranked third in the European enterprise telephony market, that it intends to purchase Ericsson’s enterprise PBX solutions business, ITEC, has moved quickly to reassure customers who own Ericsson enterprise solutions that this deal will not affect product and service delivery.  ITEC has been an importer and distributor of Ericsson’s products for two years.

“We will continue to provide the same exemplary levels of support for the range of applications and solutions that our clients are used to and that Ericsson demands of their partners worldwide. We want to reassure them that as far as they are concerned, everything remains business as usual,” says ITEC’s chief operating officer for Enterprise Solutions, Frank Mullen.  
“I am really positive about this development. ITEC’s product portfolio will be strengthened by Aastra’s acquisition of Ericsson’s enterprise PBX solutions, as the combined R&D of these two giants will allow ITEC to provide its clients with an even more diverse range of solutions,” Mullen adds.
As an organisation that develops and delivers innovative and integrated solutions that address the communication needs of businesses of all sizes around the world, Aastra expects the combined know-how and portfolio of the two entities to help all its customers to achieve true unified enterprise communications.
The transaction, as with any such deal, is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in April 2008.
