Microsoft has appointed Sandie Overtveld as Business Operations and Marketing Officer in the South African subsidiary.

Reporting to Microsoft SA managing director Pfungwa Serima, Overtveld will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Microsoft SA’s corporate and product marketing functions, including Windows Client, Microsoft Office System, Windows Server System, Mobility and Microsoft Business Solutions.
Additionally, he will oversee the orchestration and implementation of the local subsidiary’s sales and marketing plans.
Currently the sales excellence lead for Microsoft UK’s enterprise product and partner group (EPG), the Dutch-born Overtveld is no stranger to South Africa. He was educated locally and previously held positions like marketing director at Workgroup Distribution and country manager for Corel SA before moving abroad.
Before joining Microsoft, Overtveld was a senior vice-president for mid-market CRM vendor Pivotal Corporation, and previously spent five years with the Canadian Corel Corporation in various senior management functions based in Johannesburg, Amsterdam, Sydney and London.
“We’re delighted to have a person of Sandie’s calibre on board,” says Serima. “More than ever, Microsoft SA offers rich opportunities to ensure that our strong product innovation pipeline positively impacts people’s lives. Sandie’s extensive experience in the areas of technology, sales, marketing and services will help ensure we harness this potential and fully realise the opportunities before us.”
