Apple has become the latest IT company to buck the recession trend and has reported a massive 36% increase in profits for the second quarter.
During the latest quarter, the company sold 2,29-million computers – both laptops and desktops – representing a 51% increase from a year ago.
About 10,6-million iPods were also sold during the period and 1,7-million iPhones.
Total revenue for the quarter was $7,51-billion.
The Apple Mac continues to increase its market share and contributes more than one-third of the company's revenue.
