A domain name auction to be held this month is expected to break all previous records – it's for america.com and has already attracted attention from major companies.

The auction, conducted through GreatDomains.com and Sedo.com, will take place from 22-29 May.
Evaluators Duff & Phelps, Sedo and Afternic have valued the domain property as worth between $3,5-million and $7,3-million.
Previous records include $3-million for vodka.com, $5-million for korea.com and $5,5-million for casino.com.
Even in this year's tighter economic climate, domain names have been fetching staggering prices: pizza.com at $2,6-million and fund.com at $9,99-million.
