Pinnacle Micro ups Supermicro sales by 30%

Pinnacle Micro expects to increase the sale of its Supermicro server range by 30% year-on-year. Final sales figures are due to be announced at the end of June.

This is according to Francois Lottering, Pinnacle Micro’s  Supermicro product manager. “We are very pleased with sales. We still have a small slice of the server market but we are starting to make inroads.”
Since last year Pinnacle Micro has invested heavily in the roll-out of a Super Micro accredited partnership programme, as part of its plan to move strongly into local server market.
Last year the company announced plans to broaden its product focus by entering the server market after signing an exclusive Southern African distribution agreement with US-listed server manufacturer Super Micro Computer, a leader in application optimised high performance server solutions.
Pinnacle Micro – via its 28 resellers – now has representation in “all Pinnacle Micro-covered regions in Southern Africa”, including Botswana and Namibia.
Supermicro, founded in 1993, recently concluded its IPO and had committed "additional resources to Southern Africa" in order to enhance it penetration in the region.
Supermicro emphasises superior product design and quality control to produce highly reliable mission-critical servers that maximise price/performance ratios for global customers.
