It could be just a ruse to force the hand of Yahoo's current board, but Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has apparently told delegates at a Moscow technology show that the acquisition of Yahoo "was never viewed as strategic."
Reuters reports that Ballmer revealed to his audience that Microsoft had $50-billion to spend on other acquisitions.
"Yahoo was never the strategy we were pursuing," Ballmer says. "We will spend money on some acquisitions. You can do a whole lot of things with $50-billion."
