Dell has been rapped over the knuckles by a New York judge for advertising services that it failed to deliver on.

The court found that Dell repeatedly advertised promotional credit financing and warranties without disclosing that most customers wouldn't qualify for those services.
There were 700 complaints lodged against the PC manufacturer when the lawsuit was filed last May and about 1 000 more have been received since then.
The ads offered free peripherals, rebates, discounts and zero-interest financing to selected customers. But the compainants say only about 7% of customers actually qualified.
Dell will appeal the ruling.
