Computex, Taipei – Twenty six hours of travel – and two muscle-mangling massages later – Mark Davison has finally arrived in Taipei to cover this year's Computex for IT-Online.

Billed as the most important platform for ITC procurement in the world, this year's Computex is geared up to be the biggest yet with an estimated 1 725 companies displaying their products to more than 200 000 visitors.
For the first time in its 28-year history the exhibition is split over two venues, with the new Nangang Exhibition Centre contributing more than 50% additional floorspace.
The show is expected to generate in the region of $20-billion worth of business during the course of the week.
Mobility and "green" are expected to be the major themes at Computex but, between massages, we discovered that along with the traditional slew of new product announcements, there will also be movement in terms of new distribution agreements for some South African distributors – the vast majority of whom are strongly represented here.
We'll keep you posted over the next few days.
