LG Electronics South Africa plans to change the current senior management structure, from a Korean to a local South African representative, as part of its global business strategy.

“The South African market is an extremely important market for us,” says Michelle Potgieter, marketing director. “It is evident that our South African operation requires a local MD, this change will strengthen the company’s commitment to understanding local market conditions.”
LG Electronics SA has had a Korean MD and, historically, every few years it sends a new MD on a rotating basis. Under the new structure, however, consumer electronics director Peet van Rooyen will be acting-MD in the interim until a suitable candidate has been appointed.
Potgieter explains: “LG Electronics SA would like to acknowledge Tae the current MD who has been with LG Electronics SA for the past three years and thank him for his contribution. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
