New commercial business unit head for SAS

Business intelligence company SAS Institute has appointed Kerry Evans as GM of its commercial business division.

As no stranger to SAS, Evans once headed up the financial services sector of the business, before she left to pursue opportunities within the corporate financial services and ICT consulting industries.
“At SAS we have taken a strategic decision to better align our business with our customers, which has seen a clear line being drawn between the services delivered by both the commercial and public divisions within our business,” says Riad Gydien, country manager at SAS Institute South Africa.
“But no business can survive in this competitive industry landscape without the right people at the helm.  Kerry brings with her a wealth of industry experience as well as direct experience with SAS itself, we believe she is going to be an invaluable member of our senior management team.”
More recently Evans held management positions at the IQ Business Group andProgress Software.
